OK buckle up because I’m on a rampage today about another dickhead with a diploma.
It’s all on the back of a 90 Day Strategic Strike with a Fellowship member yesterday.
Long and short being, over the last month this particular man has been using a Facebook “Expert” to run their ads.
Now within four weeks, and after spending £10,000 in advertising this particular expert has generated a grand total of £675 in sales.
A downright dismal (and disgraceful) ROI of -93.75.
… Sobering reading and a number that fails to make the maths work – even for those with D-E-E-P pockets.
Seems that this self-anointed Facebook professional is nothing more than another dickhead with a digital diploma.
A rubber stamp achieved after probably watching nothing more than five hours of videos online, or on YouTube.
The worrying trend in so-called “Agency’s” sitting a course, setting up shop and then selling snake oil.
… Or you could call it the classic tale of others deeming it OK to “fake it till you make” it – on mine or yours fucking dime!
It’s why, when it comes to buying media (Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Newspapers, TV), and getting help from others to do it, my number one question is always this:
“How Much Of Your OWN Money Do You Spend Doing This Shit…?!”
… Or in other words, how much do you personally put at risk, buying this media for yourself.
Now, if their answer is less than double what I’m looking to spend, I won’t touch them with a barge pole.
Because in my experience, there’s something about cutting your teeth with your own cash over someone else’s.
… As you can imagine this particular dickhead is going to get a swift bullet to the back of the head, and James is going to personally take back control of his ads with speed and full force.
Meaning you have been warned about the current state of play.
Truth is, and when push comes to shove, most men in this tribe would be wise to consider that now more than ever – your number one skill must become, starting to turn advertising into profit…
… And on your own terms.
If this trend is a measuring stick, I’m becoming more and more convinced that agency’s should be avoided like the plague and publically burnt at the stake.
Make More. Provide More. Be More.
