So on Friday my racket of fleecing Barney came to a screeching halt.
Long story short my back is fucked.
Now the professionals say it’s something to do with spending 10 plus years on the ice, 15 years on the weights and 5 years in construction.
Apparently, it’s the perfect storm for waking up in the morning like you’ve been sideswiped by a ten-tonne truck.
Anyway, when lockdown 1.0 kicked in, Barney got on the case to religiously help me stretch it, adjust it and tweak it each morning.
The good news being, up until Friday this has cost me nothing and he’s been doing it for free.
… That was until Emma opened he big mouth and told Barney that he should be charging me a weekly fee for the service.
Meaning now, rather than me fleecing him, he’s fleecing me…
For £5 a week!
Daylight robbery, when you consider what it costs me to keep him alive and a roof over his head 🙂
Anyway, the point is this.
Over the last 12 months, I’ve been privy to the vast amounts of money bleeding out, and all over the floor, in the form of freebies, goodwill and laziness – from men at the helm of their own business.
Money being given away for free – that should have been billed, invoiced and banked.
Raising the question this week…
How much work are you currently doing for free?
How much of your bottom line are you freely giving away?
… and how much money are you letting bleed out and into the streets?
… Because the fact of the matter is, when it comes to thriving in this rapidly emerging new economy, the spoils will always go to the man who ruthless starts evaluating the money inside of the business to stack the deck in his favour.
