Remember last week when it was my birthday and I said I was trying to buy a house?
Well, that’s no longer happening.
Shit has changed.
Let me explain… this house is (was) a dream house.
Consider that two houses on one plot – a place for the family and a place for the business.
Plus it had a tennis court that I planned to change into a hockey rink 🙂
We get down to the paperwork… and… Some structural building code is missing.
I meet with the estate agents, the owners, and even a solicitor…
No one is sweating it ‘cos it’s been seven years and that apparently means it’s “ok”…
I’m still unsure.
… So I turn to Chris (structural engineer) and long-standing member of The Fellowship.
Someone who I trust to be honest with me no matter what.
He does some digging, gets the full lowdown, and then delivers the BAD news.
The house is missing pilings, paperwork, and is a bomb waiting to go off…
“Charlie don’t go near this with a barge pole…”
And here’s the thing…
I really fucking wanted that house.
Chris knew it.
Yet for my own sake, he told me the cold hard facts of the situation.
And I listened.
In short, BULLET DODGED.
Trouble is, most men in this game are missing sources of pure unadulterated, impartial and open honesty.
Choosing instead to rely on those already in their circle for advice.
The problem being, no one in your life (or mine) is impartial.
And certainly not employees or work contacts.
It’s why in my experience If you want to succeed in this game then I urge you to start getting men in your environment that are honest.
Men that will give you the truth…
Even if it isn’t what you want to hear.
Truth is, and now more than ever, your business, your bank balance, and your being will thank you for it.
Make More. Provide More. Be More.
