Last night my friend had a New Year’s party.
The theme?
“FU 2022”
I didn’t go – smart attire and strangers is not my idea of fun.
…But the theme?
Well – that’s one I can get behind.
Because let’s be honest, in the cold hard light of day, the last two years have been a wild ride…
…From lockdowns lows to liars in leadership, to insane inflation.
… Most men like you and I have been like lambs to the slaughter.
Now, cards on the table, for me these last 12 months have been a tale of two halves.
- Business good.
- Personal not so much.

Because for now, I’m going to make a bold prediction…
… 2023 will not be sunshine and rainbows – but, and it’s a B-I-G fucking but…
For you and I my friend, that should be considered good news.
… Because unlike the masses who have to leave their fate in the hands of the gods:
… YOU get to hold your own cards.
… YOU get to captain your own ship.
… YOU get to play by your own rules.
Meaning today, as you lick your wounds from last night and as you say FU to 2022 – the choice is yours.
Make a move…
…or bend the knee.
Whatever you choose, that is your cross to bear.
But I must warn you:
Doing the same thing this year and expecting a different result is dumb-fuckery of the highest order.
In my mind, and in this game, it’s time to consider that nothing will fuck you harder than doing the same shit over and over again – and then acting disappointed when you end up standing still.
It’s why right now, and as you sit on the cusp of 365 fresh opportunities to stand tall among giants – I’m going to urge you to make a commitment to yourself.
- Commit to burning the ships…
- Commit to storming the castle…
- Commit to taking no prisoners…
…And commit to doing that TODAY, right here, and right now.
After all, if you can’t commit to you and your cause – who the hell will?
Anyway – that all said, let me close out 2022 with a toast:
“2022… Fuck you and the horse you rode in on”
“2023… Watch out, we are coming for you!”
