Got a Facebook comment in from Matt S, who’s just starting out in his journey:
“I’m currently employed – how do I get my idea / business off the ground with no money.”
Long story short – you don’t and you can’t.
See here’s the thing, the art and science of launching a business requires:
- Presenting yourself to a target market.
- Acquiring customers.
And those are both best done with some marketing and operating capital and cash.
That said, for those willing to bunker down and do what needs to be done, there are two possible switches that can be made for large sums of money in the bank:
1. Manual labour.
That is you my friend getting off your arse, hitting the phones, pounding the pavement or ruthlessly ramming yourself down peoples throats online.
2. Other peoples customers.
Now, this is more difficult but not impossible. It relies on you being able to piggyback on the relationships that other people already have with your target customers and getting THEM to promote YOU.
… Now I don’t care what those who are trying to pick your pockets online say about “no money down” – there is no other way.
That’s it.
Truth is, both of those take work and both of those take discipline – BUT if you prioritise and execute in one of those two areas, it’s still possible to successfully run the gauntlet.
