Yesterday I was shooting the shit with an old business friend.
We talked about life, the last year and plans for 2022.
His response:
“Shit Charlie – how do you do it all?”
I replied:
“I don’t.”
See here’s the thing that the self-help books and arseholes online don’t tell you.
You can’t do it all.
I tried.
I thought I was the exception.
I was not.
The net result being, I fucked up royally at nearly lost it all – instead of having it.

Everything You Say Yes To Is Saying No To Something Else
See, this life is about choices.
And the man that fails to CHOOSE where to put his energy is the man that will ultimately lose it all.
The fact of the matter is that over the last few years I’ve made the choice to double down on “work.”
I’ve made the choice to put my son to bed every night.
I’ve made the choice to take a lot of family trips.
B-U-T…
I have also made the choice to not speak internationally…
I have made the choice to not go to “fully comp’ed” events…
I have made the choice to turn down 90% of private client work…
Because saying yes to this would mean saying no to everything else.
Truth is most would be wise to consider that it’s not just the big things, but the little things that matter too:
… Dinners, group texts, group WhatsApp messages – all things I am unlikely to accept.
See my choice is this:
Solid family and solid business.
… Your choices are yours alone.
That said, this week I urge you to actively choose one way or another because I promise you, if you fail to choose, you will fail to win.
