OK, so if the last two years have taught me anything it’s that none of us really in totally control our own destiny.
Y-E-T as humans we’re creatures of habit.
… Inherently programmed from the ground up to think, IF we just had a bit more money, a bit more fame or a bit more power then finally we’d be able to take control of our lives for good.
And whilst I think we can all agree the poor man has little command over his choices, in my experience ‘more’ is never the path that leads to REAL control.
…Think of the corporate CEO at the mercy of shareholders, the actor who is typecast, the world leader whose every waking moment is controlled by OTHERS.
Yes, it may seem glamorous, but dig a little deep and the cracks start to appear.
Can they say what they think?
Do they control their diary or does it control them?
Is their day fun or fucked-up?
See, men at any level of this game can give away control, or choose take it back.
Point being, men like you are I have the opportunity to create freedom in our lives – if YOU choose to….
So, ask yourself: Am I free?
- Free to decide what I do
- Free to do what I think is right
- Free to invest in myself or shit I think worth pursuing
- Free to spend time with who I want to spend time with
- Free to leave the office to enjoy dinner with my family before putting my kids into bed…
Truth is, the way I decide whether to take on a project is simple.
I ask myself one question:
Does this give me more freedom or less?
I don’t care whether it’s cool, whether it is with someone famous or whether it lines my pockets.
What matters is freedom.
Because if it doesn’t… well, what’s the point?
Make More. Provide More. Be More.
