The Hidden Stage Of ‘Fight Or Flight’

Ever watched the TV show Billions? 

It’s about this guy, Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod. 

A self-made billionaire.   

He survived 9/11 by a fluke. 

And while New York was literally burning to the ground…

Axe profited by investing in the market while the city suffered. 

Much to the disgust of the masses. 

Funny thing is, the same thing happened in real life and during the pandemic.

There were lots that suffered BUT also lots that scaled.

Ethical – maybe?

Profitable – certainly!

The uncomfortable truth being…

… Tough times can, and should, be used to your advantage. 

In other words, and in my opinion:

IT IS OK TO GROW WHILE OTHERS STRUGGLE. 

Meaning it’s time to consider the possibility that right now is your single biggest opportunity to make bold moves

Especially if you are happy to operate in grey areas

The fact of the matter is, since September, I have done just that.

Double bubble on marketing spend in all businesses, because everyone else has stopped buying ads. 

As a direct result, my lead cost has been slashed in half.

Something I suspect you too can replicate as your competitors continue to grind to a halt.

See at times like these, you would be wise to capitalize on the science behind ‘fight or flight.’

… Because psychologists say, right before your brain makes that choice…

… Run to the hills OR fight tooth and nail…  there is a pause, where most freeze and do nothing. 

And here’s the thing, in this country, this pause is happening right N-O-W. 

In fact, based on what I’m seeing online I’d have you consider that your competitors have already started to down tools, bunker down and squirrel away nuts for a dark winter.

Stuck, paused, frozen and waiting for the sunshine to hopefully thaw things out.

Bad news for them

Good news for you.

Which is why today, I’d urge you to saddle up and keep moving.

The New Year is too late. 

In fact, if you’ve ever had the sense that your business could be doing more, so much more….

Then my friend, opportunity is knocking.

And as The Rock once wisely said: 

“When you walk up to opportunities door, don’t knock it… kick that bitch in, smile and introduce yourself..”
