Well, as I write this I’ve just come back from the most depressing meal of my life.
I’ve been to more cheery funerals.
An old friend from school was in town so we went for dinner at the new burger joint – Patty Freaks.
Now, I was expecting a nice little update – relationships, work, kids, hobbies. You know, the usual stuff….
And that is NOT what I got.
Turns out this particular man in question had done a total 180.
My previously happy-go-lucky best bud was down and out…
- Down about the economy
- Down about interest rates
- Down about life
And as we delved deeper into his self made tornado of shit, the reasoning behind this grim outlook became crystal clear…
“I read this article on the Daily Mail…”
Ahhhhhh – fuck.
That’s when the penny dropped and that’s when I instantly understood.
Because for me, one look at the Daily Mail and I’m ready to end it all.
That said, I don’t blame the mass media moguls or fat cats.
They get rich by psychologically forcing the mass mediocre majority to click, read, or watch.
I do however blame HIM for consuming it.
See in my experience – we are what we eat.
Three square meals of McDonalds a day is going to make you fat and feel like shit.
And it’s the same my friend, with your mind.
…You are what you watch.
…You are what you click.
…You are what you read.
Meaning your mantra for money this week is to remember whatever you choose (and it is always a choice) to consume – you are choosing your future.
…Choosing your future thoughts.
…Choosing your future opinions.
…Choosing your future outlook.
So best choose wisely brother.
