So it’s Boxing Day…
… And if you’re anything like me, by now, I suspect your family is already starting to get on your nerves and test your temper…
- Uncle Jim has told the same boring story – twice…
- The kids are all jacked up on sugar and toys…
- The house is littered with shit you didn’t want, need or ask for…
… And chances are, even though you’re physically present, mentally you’re already scheming and planning for the spoils next year will bring.
Itching to get back in the saddle, back in the office and back behind the wheel.
Funny thing is, most don’t understand this itch that men like you and I need to scratch.
Especially when you consider that the game we play can be a fucking slog.
… Wrestling with worry
… Struggling with highs and lows
… Surviving tough times
And yet despite that tornado of shit, I believe this path that we have chosen is a GOOD life and a life well-lived.
After all, if history has taught us anything it’s that men who have had good lives have also had struggles. Always.
So here’s to the struggle, here’s to the struggle to the fight, and here’s to scratching that itch by putting your feet back in the fire.
